Bhopal: International Women’s Day was celebrated with traditional enthusiasm today at BHEL, Bhopal. On this occasion, Shri S M Ramanathan, Executive Director; Smt. Sangeeta Ramanathan, President, BHEL Ladies Club; Shri B.K. Singh, General Manager (HR), Dr. Smt. Alpana Tiwari, General Manager (Medical) and Unit Coordinator WIPS, all general managers and a large number of women employees were present. On this occasion, Dr. Mrs. Sarala Menon, former Head of Medical Services, Kasturba Hospital and Dr. Mrs. Manisha Anand were invited as guest speakers.
Congratulating all the women employees for their role in the growth and development of the company, Shri Ramanathan said that the contribution of women employees is highly commendable. He said that both men and women are equally important in the organisation and there is no inequality at any level here. He said that to move ahead in life, we must first avoid the feeling that “I cannot do this”. The word no is the biggest obstacle to progress in life. Every one of us has the same potential and capability and we have to consider every task as a challenge and try to make every day better than the other day. He also said that a healthy mind resides in a healthy body. Therefore, while working, we should always take care of our health. Praising the multidimensional personality of women employees, he said that all individuals should always try to do something new by working in a planned manner. Along with this, we should always thank our institution, family, friends, society and God that they have made us capable of this and our success has been ensured because of them.
While wishing all the women employees on International Women’s Day, Mrs. Sangeeta praised them for their dual role in the company and the family. He said that progress of the society is possible only through harmony, coordination and complementing each other between men and women.
Shri B K Singh appreciated the contribution of women employees in BHEL, Bhopal and highlighted their responsible work in various important departments and their contribution in the development of the company. He further said that BHEL management is fully conscious of the needs and requirements of women employees.
In his speech, Dr. Menon praised the working environment and mutual harmony available in BHEL and threw light on various aspects of health in detail. He told how we can perform our work keeping our stress aside. Dr. Manisha told the women employees to take out time for themselves and try to learn something new every day. Emphasizing the need for self-reliant women, she said that true development of the society is possible only when there is equal participation of men and women.
A short film on women employees working in BHEL, Bhopal was also shown in the programme. The role of Sh. Sanjay Rajbanshi, Deputy Manager (Publicity and Public Relations), Smt. Smriti Sharma, Senior Manager (HRM), Smt. Divya Joshi, Deputy General Manager (PMG) in the production of this short film produced by the Publicity and Public Relations Department is commendable.
