Coordination between nature and progress is necessary: CM

  • National seminar on Global efforts for climate change organised

Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that environment is the most important issue today. We all have to fulfill the duty of saving the earth.

The Chief Minister was addressing the discussion session and national seminar organized on the topic “Global efforts for climate change: Contribution of states to India’s commitment” at Kushabhau Thackeray International Convention Center on Monday. It has been organized by Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Good Governance and Policy Analysis (AGPA) and Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology in collaboration with Narmada Samagra Sanstha Parivai and Sikoidecon Organization.

Dr. Yadav said that in the phase the world is going through at present, our Indian way of life, our beliefs and our basic approach of connecting with God and nature have their own importance.

Dr. Yadav said that Prime Minister Modi is a ray of hope for the countries of the world. Swami Vivekananda had said that the 21st century will belong to India. Today, in view of the strength of Prime Minister Modi and India and being environmentalist, our reputation is increasing in the world.

The CM said that the Madhya Pradesh government has taken necessary decisions for the environmental protection of the Narmada river and its banks. Madhya Pradesh is the motherland of rivers. Maintaining the cleanliness of all rivers and the balance of our eco-system is our priority.

The CM expressed hope that this national seminar and discussion session will bring important conclusions on various aspects related to the environment. He wished for the success of this ideological program. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav inaugurated the discussion session by lighting a lamp.

MP will have global importance: Former Norway Minister

The session was addressed virtually by Mr. Eric Solheim, former Minister of International Development and Environment of Norway and former Executive Director of UNDP. He said that Madhya Pradesh is a very beautiful state. Its heritage is worth seeing. The climate conservation work to be done in Madhya Pradesh will have global importance.

AGPA CEO Lokesh Sharma said that Madhya Pradesh has touched many dimensions of progress in the last two decades. The Madhya Pradesh government is serious about the environment. The United Nations Climate Conference is being organized in Azerbaijan next month. In this context, the organization of the state level pre-COP discussion session is important. This is the first discussion program of its kind regarding the participation of states in relation to India’s commitment to the environment.

CM met the clay craftsman and made diyas himself

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav observed the terracotta crafts made by clay craftsman Lakhan Kumar Prajapati and Bablu Prajapati of Bhopal. These crafts include the statue of Lakshmi Mata, diyas and other crafts. Prajapati showed the chirping magic bird made from a mixture of cow dung and clay to Chief Minister Dr. Yadav and also presented the statue of Shrinath ji. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav appreciated the talent of Prajapati. He himself also participated in the making of clay crafts.

Students showed samples of paintings

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also met students of various schools at the venue. The students who made many paintings centered on environment and nature conservation were very happy to meet Chief Minister Dr. Yadav. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also congratulated the students for their painting talent.
