Country emerging as major economic & political power in the world: Amit Shah

New Delhi, Sep 17 (UNI) Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country is emerging as a major economic and political power in the world.

Addressing a press conference along with Railway and Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, on the completion of first 100 days of Modi 3.0, he said, “In ten years, the Prime Minister has taken the country to new heights and also created new dimensions of good governance and welfare for poor’.

Shah said ‘The 100 days of Modi 3.0 have laid a strong foundation for the creation of a developed India”.

The Home Minister said, “For the first time after 60 years, there is an atmosphere of political stability in the country and we have also seen execution and continuity of policies”.

He said that the Modi government has achieved a major milestone in making India safe by strengthening the country’s external and internal security and the security system.

Shah said that when the slogan ‘Make in India’ was raised, then many people made fun of it. But today India has become the most coveted centre for manufacturing in the world.

“Projects worth Rs 15 lakh crore was launched in the first 100 days of Modi government’s third term so as to build a strong foundation for a developed India,” the Home Minister said.

He further added that projects worth Rs three lakh crore have been approved for infrastructure development in 100 days. Under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana-4, connectivity will be expanded to 25,000 unconnected villages with a central assistance of Rs 49,000 crore.

Shah said that Rs 4.35 lakh crore has been approved for three crore houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna.

He said, “Under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme, the announcement was made to create 12 industrial nodes that will provide facilities for investors and ensure the ease of doing business. The MUDRA loan limit has been increased from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 20 lakh, benefiting traders who have successfully repaid their previous loans”.

With regard to youth empowerment, the Home Minister said that Rs two lakh crore PM package has been announced to promote employment and skill development among the youth. The goal is to benefit 41 million youth over the next five years.

Stating that the middle class has been given many reliefs in these 100 days, Shah said, “Now there will be no tax on income up to Rs seven lakh. The Unified Pension Scheme has been implemented and employees with 25 years of service will receive 50 percent of their average basic salary as a pension. The third iteration of the One Rank, One Pension scheme will be implemented for security forces and their families”.

He said that under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, three crore houses have been approved that includes one crore houses under the urban scheme and two crore approved for construction in rural areas.

Shah said that the central government has also announced several thousand appointments.

“Our government recognises the importance of local languages ​​for the development of the nation. Regional languages ​​are linked to our history, culture and traditions. Therefore our new education policy gives priority to primary education in local languages. On the issue of official language, I have already made it clear that Hindi does not replace or compete with any local language,” the Home Minister said.
