Varanasi, Nov 2 (UNI) The Varanasi district court on Thursday granted an additional 15 days time to the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to complete the scientific survey of Gyanvapi mosque complex and submit its report till november 17.
Counsel of the Hindu said Madan Mohan Yadav said that the application was moved by ASI in the court of District Judge Ajay Krishna Vishvesha praying to grant an additional 15 days time to complete the survey of the Gyanvapi mosque complex.
He said that in the application it was stated that the ASI needs more time for compiling the report along with details of the equipment used in the survey work. While admitting the application the District Judge granted an additional 15 days time to ASI to submit its scientific survey report till November 17, he said.
It may be noted that on October 5 the district court had granted four more weeks to the ASI which was scheduled to complete on November 6.
The Varanasi district court had on July 21 ordered for the ‘scientific survey’ of Gyanvapi mosque complex by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). The court ordered a survey of the Gyanvapi complex, excluding the Wazookhana, which was sealed after a Shivling-like structure was found there last year.
