New Delhi, Sep 19 (UNI) Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Thursday said that credibility and authenticity of news is in crisis today and noted that Sansad TV is doing a commendable work in filling up this gap by spreading the spirit of democracy to the people.
Addressing the Valedictory Session of Sansad TV Conclave organized in Parliament House Complex on the foundation day of Sansad Television, he hoped with the use of emerging technologies and AI, Sansad TV will fulfill the hopes and aspirations of the people more effectively.
Speaking on this occasion, Birla noted he observed that the imprint of Sansad TV an authentic source of information has been benefiting different stakeholders across the country and abroad.
Expressing happiness over the role of Sansad TV, The Lok Sabha Speaker said, “In three years of its existence, Sansad TV has emerged as a powerful medium to showcase the high values of democratic traditions and culture”.
He added that with its commitment towards democratic values, Sansad TV is also promoting scientific outlook among the people by throwing light on all aspects of political, economic, social and cultural life.
Referring to the programming of Sansad TV telecast in the country and abroad, Om Birla said, “Through Sansad TV, people are becoming more aware of the functioning of Parliament and democratic institutions, implementation of policies and schemes”.
“The programmes of Sansad TV provide information to the youth about democratic institutions and their functioning as well as civic duties” he added.
