- Temp above 40 degrees in Bhopal, Indore
Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh is experiencing scorching heat with above normal temperatures. On Saturday, the temperature reached a record high, with Datia being the hottest place in the state at over 47 degrees Celsius. This marks the highest temperature recorded so far this season. The mercury reached up to 45 degrees in Gwalior and it was above 40 degrees in Bhopal, Indore. The intense heat and heat waves have caused discomfort for many residents in various parts of the state, although some areas did experience rainfall.
The Meteorological Department has issued a heat wave warning for Sunday in Sheopur Kalan, Morena, Bhind, Gwalior, Datia, Niwari, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Sagar and Damoh districts.
Drizzle in eastern MP
On the other hand, the weather in the eastern parts of the state – Chhindwara, Seoni, Mandla, Pandhurna – is different. While it is very hot during the day, clouds gather in the evening. On Saturday, there was some drizzle in a few places. On Sunday, severe heat is experienced in the north-western parts, while clouds and rain are forecasted for the eastern-southern parts. Bhopal, Indore, and Ujjain also experience significant heat.
MP suffers due to scorching heat
The highest temperature was recorded in Datia on Sunday. The maximum temperature of Datia was recorded at 47.2 degrees Celsius. Whereas in Gwalior the temperature was 45 degrees Celsius. The mercury crossed 44 degrees in Khajuraho and Naugaon of Chhatarpur. At the same time, temperatures of more than 43 degrees were recorded in Shajapur, Ratlam and Guna. In Ujjain, Bhopal, Indore and Jabalpur the temperature was more than 40 degrees Celsius and the effect of extreme heat was seen. People in these districts were seen suffering from heat and heat wave.
Rain likely at these places
On Sunday, many areas of the state remained cloudy and the weather remained cool. Rainfall occurred in Vidisha and Sagar, which provided relief from the heat. According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain and hailstorm with strong thunderstorm in Mandsaur, Ratlam, Betul and Chhindwara districts on Monday.
