New Delhi, (UNI) Ghoomer, starring Abhishek Bachchan, which opened in the theatres on Friday during the Gadar 2 box office frenzy, has earned only Rs 2 crore in the first two days of its release.
Cinema circles feel the R Balki sports movie has till date failed to make much of a splash in the box office because of Sunny Deol’s follow-up historical drama that has drawn spectators in huge numbers to the theatres.
Ghoomer only made Rs 1.2 crore (net) on Saturday after a pitiful opening day collection of Rs 85 lakh.
Additionally, according to the company, Ghoomer had a 29.97 percent market occupancy in Hindi.
Most of the spectators watched nighttime shows.
Gadar 2 by Sunny Deol, on the other hand, has netted a total of Rs 336.13 crore in India and Rs 395.1 crores internationally.
OMG 2, starring Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi, is also performing well financially and has already surpassed Rs 100 crore.
The second week of Rajinikanth’s action movie Jailer saw an increase in sales, and it has already garnered over Rs 500 crore worldwide in just 10 days.
