New Delhi, Mar 10 (UNI) A Delhi court on Monday extended the Enforcement Directorate (ED) custody of Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) National President MK Faizi by three days under the provisions of Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
The ED counsel pleaded that Faizi’s ED remand be extended by five more days for further interrogation.
Additional Session Judge (ASJ) Chander Jit Singh after hearing submissions on behalf of Enforcement Directorate and the defence, passed an order remanding the SDPI chief to ED custody for three more days.
Faizi was arrested last week at Delhi International Airport by ED sleuths for allegedly violating PMLA provisions.
His arrest is part of an ongoing investigation into alleged money laundering activities linked to the banned organisation Popular Front of India (PFI).
