New Delhi, April 12 (UNI) A Delhi Court sought reply from CBI and ED on interim bail application of Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia to campaign for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
Sisodia was arrested in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy case and presently was lodged in Tihar Jail.
Special Judge Kaveri Baweja sought response from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on the interim bail plea and listed the application for reply and arguments on April 20.
Special counsel Zoheb Hossain appearing for ED as well as the counsel appearing for CBI sought some time to file the reply on the interim bail application.
Manish Sisodia was first arrested by CBI and ED on February 26 and March 9 last year respectively.
CBI registered an FIR and arrested Sisodia and others who are instrumental in taking decisions regarding the 2021-22 excise policy without the approval of competent authority with an intention to extend undue favours to the licensee post tender.
Investigating Agency has alleged that Sisodia was arrested because he gave evasive replies and refused to cooperate with the Investigation Agency.
Bail applications of Sisodia in both cases were rejected by Special Judge on March 31 and April 28 last year and also rejected by Delhi High Court.
Then he approached the Supreme Court against the rejection of bail order.
The Supreme Court also refused to grant the bail on October 30.
