New Delhi, Nov 4 (UNI) The Delhi government has constructed over 1,000 Chhath Ghats across the city, with all arrangements overseen by the government, Chief Minister Atishi said on Monday.
Atishi visited the Chhath Ghat at ITO to review the ongoing preparations.
Speaking on the occasion, the CM emphasized, “Delhi government is committed to ensuring that there are no shortcomings in the preparations for Chhath Mahaparv. Ministers, MLAs, and all departments are inspecting Chhath Ghats across the city.”
“Chhath is the most important festival for our Purvanchali brothers and sisters. The devotion of the people of Delhi, along with Purvanchali brothers and sisters, is deeply connected to Chhathi Maiya,” she said.
“Since the formation of Arvind Kejriwal’s government, Chhath Mahaparv has been given the respect it deserves, something no other government has done before. Until 2014, only 60 sites across Delhi were designated by the government for Chhath Ghats,” Atishi said.
“However, now, under the guidance of Arvind Kejriwal Ji, the Delhi government has constructed over 1,000 Chhath Ghats across the city, with all arrangements overseen by the government,” the CM noted.
Highlighting the significance of the ITO Chhath Ghat, she said, “This Chhath Ghat at ITO is one of Delhi’s most important sites, where lakhs of devotees come to offer prayers to Chhathi Maiya. All our MLAs and ministers are continuously inspecting Chhath Ghats across the city. We hope that Chhathi Maiya’s blessings remain with all Delhiites.”
During the inspection, Atishi directed officials to complete all Chhath Ghat preparations promptly, with no last-minute work pending.
To ensure that every resident can celebrate Chhath Mahaparv without having to travel far from home, the Delhi government has prepared over 1,000 ghats across the city. From pond creation to tents, lights, cleanliness, and security, all arrangements are being managed by the Delhi government.
In addition, many ghats will host cultural programs organized by the Maithili-Bhojpuri Academy, enabling devotees to celebrate the Mahaparv of Chhath with joy, peace, and devotion.
