New Delhi, Sept 11 (UNI) The Delhi government will beautify and uplift all areas across the national capital on the lines of G20 designated areas.
Addressing a press conference here on Monday, PWD Minister Atishi said around 1400 kilometers of PWD roads across Delhi will undergo a makeover, encompassing beautification, redesigning, improved lighting, and landscaping.
“The work of beautify has begun from today itself,” said Atishi.
“Municipal Corporation of Delhi and Urban Development Department will ensure mechanized road sweeping and road cleaning in the city. For this Delhi government will provide required support to the civic body for purchasing more mechanized sweeping machines for road cleaning,” Delhi Minister said.
Atishi said, “We would like to promise the people of Delhi that the whole city will be beautified in the coming time on the lines of key areas of G20.”
The Minister held a review meeting of PWD officials this morning to ensure beautification work to be carried out across the city.
“From tomorrow, I will start visiting various areas of the city where such beautification and road improvement works are required,” Atishi added.
Adding to the words of PWD Minister, Delhi Urban Development Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj said, “Delhi government is taking the responsibility of maintaining this beauty of Delhi further in the future. All the departments of the Delhi government and MCD will work dedicatedly to further improve and beautify other parts of the city.”
