Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal
The outbreak of dengue is continuously increasing in the capital. In the last few days, the highest number of cases of dengue and chikungunya are being reported in Bhopal’s hospitals and labs.
If we talk about the areas of the city, the highest number of dengue cases have been registered in the Kolar area. On Wednesday, 165 tests were conducted in the city, in which about 12 new cases of dengue were reported. Whereas, from October 1 till now the number of patients has increased to 110. Including these, the total number of dengue cases in the capital has now increased to 455.
= 44 cases of chikungunya in 15 days: Chikungunya cases are also increasing in the capital. In the last 15 days, 44 patients of Chikungunya have been found, while more than 2200 tests were conducted. Most of the cases in the city are coming from Kolar, TT Nagar, Arera Colony, Indrapuri, Narela, Sonagiri, Khajuri Kalan, Shahpura, Piplani, Bagmugalia, Panchsheel Nagar, Bagsevaniya and Minal Residency. Many cases of dengue have also been reported in private hospitals of Bhopal like Devmata, Rajni, Gayatri and Vansal. Whereas, from 15 days till Wednesday, 108 dengue patients were found positive in the city. Including the new dengue patients, this figure has crossed 450.

The number of dengue patients has increased significantly in the recent past. Tests are being conducted every day in the hospital. Some of these cases are found positive. The number of patients has increased by 20-30 percent in the recent past. Not all of them have dengue. Some also have only a fever.

Till Tuesday, 39 new dengue patients were found in the hospital. This makes it seem that the health department is trying to hide the data of dengue patients. Be careful for 10 to 15 days more, avoid dengue mosquitoes and get yourself examined by a doctor immediately if you see symptoms of dengue.
