Bhopal: The Department of Physiology at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bhopal celebrated its 12th Foundation Day today. On this occasion, the Executive Director of AIIMS Bhopal, Prof. Dr. Ajai Singh, congratulated the department, stating, “This day is a moment of pride for our department. Over the past 12 years, the department has not only achieved excellence in the academic field but has also made significant contributions to research and community health. We must continue to develop our knowledge and skills to reach new heights in the health sector.”
During the event, renowned space physiologist and former faculty member of AIIMS Bhopal, Dr. Sudhanshu Shekhar Mishra, provided insights to students and all members of the institution regarding various aspects of space physiology. Space physiology involves the study of the effects of space on the human body, including factors like microgravity and stress. His lectures heightened students’ interest in the field of space physiology.
Additionally, a workshop on exercise physiology was conducted, where Dr. Sandeep Hulke explained various nuances of exercise to the students. The event was attended by senior professor Dr. Debashish Biswas, department head Dr. Santosh Wakode, faculty members from various departments, residents, and students.
At the conclusion of the program, Prof. Singh remarked, “Our efforts aim not only to achieve academic excellence but also to promote health and well-being in society. Our collective efforts can bring about positive change in the community.”
