Bhopal: Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla launched the National Pulse Polio Campaign in Madhya Pradesh by administering polio drops at the District Early Intervention Unit (Jayprakash Hospital Campus). Deputy CM Shukla said that our Madhya Pradesh has remained polio free from the year 2008 till date. He has appealed to all the citizens and parents of the state to not let any lapse happen in the safety of their children. In the National Pulse Polio Campaign starting in the state, children aged 0 to 5 years must go to the nearest polio booth and give them two drops of life and contribute to keeping the country and the state polio free. Deputy CM Shukla administered pledge to people present to cooperate in the polio drop and vaccination campaign. He appealed to the media representatives to cooperate in making the campaign successful.
Dastak Abhiyan from June 25
The Deputy CM said that the Dastak Abhiyan is being started in the state from June 25. In this campaign, the staff of the Health Department will go door to door and knock on the door. Along with the vaccination of children, other tests will also be done in the campaign and treatment will be arranged as per the need. The Deputy Chief Minister asked all citizens to cooperate in building a healthy and strong India. The government is making arrangements for adequate infrastructure and manpower for the treatment system. He said that to ensure the complete health of the treatment system, include yoga exercises and proper diet in the daily routine. The Deputy Chief Minister has appealed to the doctors studying to come forward to improve the rural health system.
Polio drops to be administered to 1.11 cr kids
A statewide campaign is being run from 23 June to 25 June to maintain the polio protection cycle in the state. About 1 crore 11 lakh 0-5 year old children have been targeted in the state. On the first day (Polio Sunday), 54 thousand 742 booths, 1237 transit booths, 6130 high risk area and migratory booths have been set up.
3.5 lakh children get drops in Bhopal
In Bhopal district, more than 3 lakh 50 thousand children are being given polio medicine. Along with this, district collector has appealed to all the parents of Bhopal to make sure that their children between 0 to 5 years of age get polio medicine on 23rd June.
Chief Medical and Health Officer Bhopal Dr. Prabhakar Tiwari said that under the campaign, about three and a half lakh children will be given medicine in the district. There will be special emphasis on giving medicine to children at the nearest polio booth so that most of the children can take polio medicine on the first day itself.
More than 3000 booths have been set up in the district. Mobile teams have been formed to give medicine to children of laborers working in under-construction buildings, brick kilns, crushers and children of nomadic population. Transit teams were deployed at railway stations, bus stands and check posts to give medicine to every child up to 5 years of age going out of the district and coming to the district.
