Bhopal: In the Central Jail of the capital, a dreaded prisoner attacked another prisoner who is in jail on charges of having links with terrorists. The injured prisoner was taken to the hospital for treatment, from where he was discharged after primary treatment. Gandhi Nagar Police has registered a case of assault against the attacking prisoner.
According to the police, a prisoner named Rajesh, son of Mukesh, is serving a sentence in the Central Jail in a murder case. Another prisoner Shahid, son of Naeem, is also lodged in the same jail. He was arrested from Jabalpur in June 2023 in a case of treason. Both the prisoners have been kept in the mental patient ward in the B section of the jail.
On Tuesday morning at around seven o’clock, the prisoners were taken out of the ward to take a bath. As soon as Shahid returned after taking a bath at around 7:30 in the morning, Rajesh attacked his head with handcuffs. Shahid’s head started bleeding due to the handcuffs.
Municipal corporation employee caught taking bribe The team of Lokayukta Police Bhopal on Tuesday arrested a municipal corporation employee red handed while taking a bribe of Rs 3 thousand. After receiving a complaint against the employee, the Lokayukta team took this action in the Municipal Corporation office located at Mata Mandir. According to the information, the applicant Mukesh Danke, resident of Panchsheel Nagar Bhopal had complained about this to the Superintendent of Police Lokayukta, Bhopal. In the complaint, Mukesh told that his father had passed away last month. Daulat Kumar posted in the pension office located at Mata Mandir Chauraha, Municipal Corporation Bhopal office, is demanding a bribe of Rs. 5000 to transfer his father’s pension case to his mother’s name. On verification of the complaint made by the applicant, a case under Section 7 PC Act 1988 was registered against Daulat Kumar.
