EAM in Kuwait, calls on Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Sabah

Kuwait City/New Delhi, Aug 18 (UNI) External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, who is on an official visit to Kuwait, on Sunday called on Kuwaiti Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Sabah and conveyed the greetings of PM Narendra Modi.

In posts on X, the EAM said the two nations share centuries-old bonds of goodwill and friendship, and their contemporary partnership is expanding steadily.

Earlier, the EAM was received at the airport by Foreign Minister Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya.

β€œThank him for his guidance and insights on taking our ties to a higher level.”

On his arrival, he posted:

β€œNamaste Kuwait.

β€œThank FM Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya for the warm welcome. Looking forward to my engagements today with the Kuwaiti leadership.”

During his one-day visit, EAM Jaishankar will engage with the Kuwaiti leadership. He is also scheduled to meet with members of the Indian community and representatives of Indian associations in Kuwait.

The visit will enable both sides to review various aspects of their bilateral relations including political, trade, investment, energy, security, cultural, consular and people-to-people contacts as well as exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.

In early June, Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah issued a decree to appoint Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Sabah as the Crown Prince of Kuwait.

Born in 1953 in Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah previously served as prime minister in the country from 2019 to 2022.
