New Delhi, July 14 (UNI) External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Sunday thanked outgoing Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra on his last day in office, and wished him well for his future endeavours.
Vikram Misri, former Deputy National Security Advisor, takes over as India’s next Foreign Secretary.
In a post on X, the EAM said:
“Thank outgoing Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra for his dedication and many contributions in the field of foreign policy and national security.
“Particularly in the last decade, he has helped strategize and execute so many of our key policies.
“Wish him well in his future endeavors.”
Kwatra, who was given a six months’ extension in March this year, had accompanied PM Modi during his visit to Russia and Austria, from July 8-10.
There is talk that Kwatra will be named India’s next ambassador to the United States, where the slot has been lying vacant after Taranjit Sandhu retired in January.
