New Delhi, Aug 8 (UNI) External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Thursday received a phone call from UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy during which the two sides discussed the political developments in Bangladesh and the unfolding geopolitical situation in the Middle East.
In a post on X, the EAM said:
“Received a call from UK Foreign Secretary @DavidLammy today.
“Discussed the situation in Bangladesh and West Asia.”
MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal during his briefing today also said that the two ministers discussed the situation in Bangladesh following the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government, and her flight to India. Hasina is reported to have sought asylum in the UK, on which a decision is still pending.
