New Delhi, Apr 18 (UNI) The Election Commission (EC) on Thursday issued notification for the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024, for 10 states.
In the fourth phase, 96 Lok Sabha seats spread over nine states and a Union Territory will go to the polls on May 13.
As per the commission, the candidates can file their nominations until April 25.
Meanwhile, the filing of nominations for the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections will end on Friday.
94 parliamentary seats in 10 states and two Union Territories will go to the polls in this phase on May 7.
Meanwhile, preparations for the first phase are in full swing for polling, which will begin on Friday.
In the first phase, on April 19, voting will be held for 102 constituencies spread over 17 states and four Union Territories.
According to the poll body, 1,625 candidates are in the fray, for which the high-octane campaigning ended Wednesday evening.
All parliamentary constituencies of Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Puducherry, Uttarakhand, and Tamil Nadu will go to poll in the first phase.
Voting will also take place for 12 seats in Rajasthan, eight seats in Uttar Pradesh, six seats in Madhya Pradesh, five seats each in Assam and Maharashtra, four seats in Bihar, three seats in West Bengal, two seats in Manipur, and one seat each in Chhattisgarh, Tripura, and Jammu and Kashmir.
Besides voting for the first phase of Lok Sabha elections, polling will also be held to elect new legislative assemblies in Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim in a single phase on Friday.
