Bhopal: Enforcement Directorate (ED) Bhopal has presented challan in the court against RTO’s crorepati former constable Saurabh Sharma and his associates Sharad Jaiswal and Chetan Singh Gaur. In this, 52 kg gold and Rs 11 crore cash found in Innova car in Mendori is said to be of Saurabh.
ED has named 12 accused in the challan. They includes Saurabh Sharma, Sharad Jaiswal, Chetan Singh Gaur, besides their firms and directors. Saurabh’s mother was also present in the court.
Lokayukta police could not present challan against these three even in 60 days. Due to which all three have got bail in the case of Lokayukta police. There was a lot of criticism in this case. After this ED presented the challan on Tuesday.
Government lawyer Harish Mehta said that ED has asked to confiscate the unclaimed property found after the raid at the three in the challan. ED has confiscated property worth Rs 100.36 crore after questioning Saurabh Sharma and his associates Chetan Singh Gaur, Sharad Jaiswal. ED arrested all three from Central Jail while they were in judicial custody and took them on seven-day remand from the court. During this, they were questioned for a long time.
After this, ED said that former RTO constable Saurabh Sharma has amassed property worth crores of rupees in his name and in the name of his relatives and associates. ED had provisionally confiscated movable and immovable properties worth Rs 92.07 crore acquired in the name of firms, companies, societies owned and controlled by them. These properties were confiscated under the provisions of Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) 2002 in the case of acquiring disproportionate assets more than their known sources of income.
