ED of AIIMS holds discussions with Deputy CM

Bhopal: In a significant step towards enhancing healthcare in Madhya Pradesh, the Executive Director of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bhopal, Prof. (Dr) Ajai Singh, paid a courtesy call on the Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Public Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education, Government of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Rajendra Shukla, at his official residence today.

During the meeting, Prof. Singh briefed the Deputy Chief Minister on the recent achievements of AIIMS Bhopal and discussed the emergency medical service delivery system in the state. He highlighted the remarkable progress AIIMS Bhopal has made over the last two years.

Prof. Singh, who took charge in August 2022, implemented several strategic reforms to enhance the institution’s credibility. These efforts have borne fruit, with AIIMS Bhopal significantly improving its rankings among government medical colleges, moving from the 20th position in 2023 to the 16th position in 2024. Additionally, AIIMS Bhopal has secured the second position among the best emerging colleges and third place among colleges established post-2000.

In the meeting, Prof. Singh elaborated on the transformative steps taken by AIIMS Bhopal in emergency health services. He emphasized the incorporation of advanced technologies in emergency medicine to ensure prompt and effective treatment in critical situations. Furthermore, Prof. Singh detailed the extensive training programs conducted by AIIMS Bhopal in collaboration with the National Health Mission of Madhya Pradesh. These programs have trained over 500 doctors and nursing officers from primary health centers across various districts in Madhya Pradesh, enhancing their capabilities to manage trauma and emergency cases efficiently.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla expressed his admiration for the achievements of AIIMS Bhopal and congratulated Prof. (Dr) Ajai Singh for his dedicated efforts. He voiced his optimism that AIIMS Bhopal will continue its commitment to improving the health infrastructure of the state, thereby contributing to the betterment of public health in Madhya Pradesh.
