Chandigarh, Oct 7 (UNI) The Enforcement Directorate on Monday conducted searches at the premises of realtor and Aam Aadmi Party’s Rajya Sabha member Sanjeev Arora across multiple locations in Punjab and Haryana, sources said.
Sources said that the searches were conducted at many places in Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Gurugram.
A financier and former minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu’s close aide Hemant Sood’s properties were also raided.
Arora, in a post on social media, said he did not know the reason behind the ED action but he will fully cooperate with the agency.
AAP leader Manish Sisodia criticised the ED action and, in a tweet, alleged that Modiji (PM Narendra Modi) has once again unleashed his enforcement agencies to target an AAP leader.
In the last two years, they have raided Arvind Kejriwal, Sanjay Singh, Satyendra Jain and me, said Sisodia.
Former New Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said in a tweet that it was not that some investigation had been launched into corruption. “The Prime Minister is after one party and has deployed all the resources and agencies to finish the party and its leaders,” he said.
BJP leader and minister of state Ravneet Singh Bittu objected to the AAP creating a fuss over the ED’s raid on Punjab leaders.
“The party’s record is tainted, be it Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, Satyendra Jain or Vijay Nair all are either under trial or out on bail. With what moral ground are these tainted leaders now trying to shield their MP?” asked Bittu.
