Emergency Medicine Conference Concludes at AIIMS Bhopal

  • Basic Life Support and CPR course inaugurated by Governor

Bhopal, The 20th All India Emergency Medicine Conference (EMINDIA-24) concluded with a grand ceremony on Sunday, 11th August, at AIIMS Bhopal. The five-day conference, which saw participation from over 750 delegates, including national and international experts, culminated with the inauguration of a Basic Life Support and CPR course by the Governor Mangubhai Patel. The event was also graced by the presence of Bhopal MP, Alok Sharma.

In his address, Governor Patel emphasized the critical nature of emergency medicine, noting that it is a field that demands quick and precise responses in situations like accidents, natural disasters, and other emergencies. He stressed the importance of utilizing the latest technology and protocols to save lives and improve patient outcomes. The Governor also lauded AIIMS Bhopal under the leadership of Executive Director Dr. Ajai Singh for providing superior healthcare services not only to the people of Madhya Pradesh but also to those from neighboring states.

Alok Sharma, MP of Bhopal, highlighted the importance of basic life support knowledge in today’s fast-paced world where accidents can occur at any time. He congratulated AIIMS Bhopal for their initiative and commended Dr. Ajai Singh’s dedication to public health. Sharma also shared that he has proposed the establishment of a trauma center at AIIMS Bhopal to the Union Health and Family Welfare Minister and suggested merging Bhopal Memorial Hospital and Research Center with AIIMS Bhopal. He further expressed his hope for the establishment of a cancer research center at AIIMS Bhopal for improved patient care.

Earlier in the event, AIIMS Bhopal Executive Director Professor (Dr.) Ajai Singh welcomed the attendees and expressed his gratitude to the Governor for his support and guidance. He shared that the EMINDIA-24 conference saw the participation of experts from both India and abroad, making it a significant event in the field of emergency medicine.

AIIMS Bhopal President Dr Sunil Malik said that nothing is more important than human life. A human life can be saved by providing basic life support at the right time. It is important that every person is proficient in BLS and for this a public awareness campaign is required.

The EMINDIA-24 conference has undoubtedly contributed to advancing the field of emergency medicine in India, and AIIMS Bhopal continues to play a pivotal role in this endeavor.
