Bhopal: The voting process for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in the state has concluded over four phases. The vote counting for all four phases is scheduled for Tuesday, June 4. Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan conducted a video conference with the Returning Officers, Assistant Returning Officers, Collectors, and District Election Officers from all 29 Lok Sabha parliamentary constituencies in the state.
Rajan congratulated all the officers and employees on the peaceful completion of all four phases of voting in the state. He emphasized that all necessary arrangements and resources must be available at the counting venues. Due to the intense heat, provisions should include cold water, coolers, fans, medical kits, ambulances, fire extinguishing equipment, and fire brigades. Ensure a continuous electricity supply at the counting site, with power backup plans and generators in working condition. A gazetted officer should be deployed to monitor the EVMs and VVPAT machines from the strong room to the counting venue.
Mobile phones will be banned
Chief Electoral Officer Rajan said that as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India, carrying mobile phones to the counting venue will be prohibited. Media persons will also be able to take mobile phones only till the media centre.
Complete training by 31st May
Chief Electoral Officer Rajan instructed all Returning Officers, Collectors, and District Election Officers to ensure that the training for counting personnel is completed by May 31. He highlighted that the counting personnel must be thoroughly trained to follow all protocols meticulously during the counting process.
