Ex EAM Natwar Singh passes away at 93

New Delhi, Aug 11 (UNI) Former External Affairs Minister K Natwar Singh passed away in Gurgaon after a prolonged illness on Saturday at the age of 93.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge condoled the demise of the late leader.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on his microblogging site X, said, “Pained by the passing away of Shri Natwar Singh Ji, he made rich contributions to the world of diplomacy and foreign policy. He was also known for his intellect as well as prolific writing. My thoughts are with his family and admirers in this hour of grief. Om Shanti”.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said, “Our deepest condolences on the passing away of former Union Minister Shri K. Natwar Singh ji. An acclaimed intellectual and a Padma Bhushan recipient, he made a profound contribution to India’s diplomacy and external affairs. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and followers.”

Natwar Singh served as the External Affairs Minister from May 2004 to December 2005 during Prime Minister Manmohan Singh-led UPA government.
