New Delhi, Aug 1 (UNI) In fresh trouble for former Indian Administrative Service trainee Puja Khedkar, a Delhi court on Thursday dismissed her anticipatory bail application in a complaint related to allegedly misrepresentation of facts in her application for Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination, 2022.
Additional Sessions Judge Devender Kumar Jangala, who had reserved the decision after hearing arguments on behalf of Khedkar, the Government Counsel and the UPSC on Wednesday, rejected her plea on Thursday.
Counsel for Khedkar requested to Court to grant anticipatory bail citing the imminent threat of arrest due to the criminal case against her.
The Government Counsel opposed the anticipatory bail application by submitting that the investigation was at a nascent stage and various documents related to Khedkar had to be verified.
The Police have registered an first information report against Khedkar after receiving complained by UPSC in the matter.
The allegation against her is that she misused the quotas under Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Persons With Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) to clear the civil services exam , 2022.
