Lahore, Oct 11 (UNI) Former speedsters Aaqib Javed and Azhar Ali are likely to join the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) national selection committee, which is slated to announce the team for the upcoming white-ball tour of Australia, Board sources said.
Additionally, former ICC elite umpire Aleem Dar is also anticipated to be appointed to the new committee, the Express tribune reported.
This comes after former captain Mohammad Yousuf quit the panel, prompting the board to expand the selection committee. Asad Shafiq will continue to serve as a selector alongside the head coach, maintaining consistency within the committee.
The official squad announcement for the white-ball series against Australia is anticipated next week. Pakistan’s national team is set to depart for Sydney on October 29, where they will face Australia in three ODIs and three T20 Internationals from November 4 to November 18.
