A Sawan Mela and Food Festival is being organized by Dakshinanchal Maheshwari Mahila Sangathan at Gujarati Samaj Bhawan located in the capital. There is a lot of cuisine and handicrafts and other products of different regions of the state available in the fair.
President of the organization, Anjana Maheshwari told that stalls of different types of delicious dishes have been set up in the fair, in which Puran Poli of Maharashtra, Kachori of Jaipur, Malwa’s chaat and corn dishes, people will be able to take the taste of South Indian cuisine. There are various activities like pottery art, deco page, Tambola, lucky draw for the children. It has become a center of attraction for the people in this holy month of Sawan. The organizer of the fair told that about 60 stalls have been set up here by the handicraftsmen from 12 to 14 states of India. In this fair, along with Indian outfits, Bhelpuri Jhalmudi Papad Chaat, handmade painting sarees, art and craft items, Maheshwari sarees, dishes from different parts of Madhya Pradesh, handloom saree beauty products have also become the center of attraction for the people.

We have given a platform to the self-employed women in the fair so that their employment progress, as well as games and handmade crafts for both children and adults are available in the fair and efforts made by Mahila Mandal Dakshinanchal Gaya has also been successful.

Sawan Mela has been organized here by Maheshwari Samaj, its purpose is to provide employment to the women who work from home and to bring them on one platform. Through this fair, we have prepared a collection of handmade things like sarees, jewelry and daily need items. Free entry has been kept.
