Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) : The Divisional Vice President of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), Surendra Kushwaha, was tragically stabbed to death at the gate of Bhopal Central Jail on Friday evening. In response to the murder, Kushwaha’s family laid his body on Link Road No. 2 on Saturday to stage a protest.
The protest began at 1 p.m., significantly disrupting traffic and daily activities on the road. Protesters blocked the road and shouted slogans against the police and administration, demanding justice.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Chandra Shekhar Pandey arrived at the protest site to address the situation. The family demanded an FIR against individuals named Tanjeel and Bhura Haddi, who they claimed were involved in the murder but were not listed among the accused. The police had registered a case against four other suspects late on Friday night.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Zone-4, Malkit Singh, reported that Surendra Kushwaha (27), a resident of Panchsheel Nagar, was attacked near Central Jail on Friday night. The accused—Sandesh Narware, Akash Bhadauria, Chhota Chetan alias Faizal, and Dipanshu Sen—stabbed Kushwaha near a Sanchi parlor. Surendra was wounded in the thigh, and Vikas Verma, another victim, was stabbed in the hand.
Both injured persons were initially taken to Shraddha Hospital. As Surendra’s condition worsened, he was transferred to AIIMS, where doctors declared him dead.
Surendra Kushwaha, who served as the BJYM Mandal Vice President, was the sole breadwinner of his family. He is survived by his younger sister, having lost his father ten years ago. The incident has left his family and the community in deep shock and mourning.
