The condition of the roads of the capital has been bad for a long time.

However, the Municipal Corporation had got patchwork done on many roads in between. Whereas, the Public Works Department (PWD) is responsible for the rest of the dilapidated roads. After the news about Chetak Bridge was published in Navbharat for a long time, now PWD has woken up. The result of this is that a big pothole on Chetak Bridge has been filled. Many accidents have happened due to this pothole, but still a big question arises that, what does PWD want to prove by filling one pothole? Because, the rest of the road of Chetak Bridge is in the same condition. When will PWD pay attention to the rest of the potholes of this bridge? After the recent rains, these bad roads and potholes were filled with water. Which dried up after a few days. In MP Nagar too, the roads under PWD are in a bad state. Not only this, even after a little rain, the roads start getting filled with water. Due to which vehicles face problems in passing through. Along with this, the risk of accidents also increases. At the same time, pedestrians also face a lot of problems. Let us tell you, last month PWD had even made claims of repairing these bad roads within 15 days which are proving to be hollow till now.

Total roads in the state
–       Total network of roads- 81 thousand kilometers
–       National Highway- 9 thousand 315 kilometers
–       State Highway-  12 thousand 568 kilometers
–       Main district road-  25 thousand 420 kilometers
–       Rural roads-  33 thousand 697 kilometers

PWD has a total of 268 roads of 573 kilometers length in Bhopal. This month, PWD Minister Rakesh Singh had reviewed and surveyed the bad roads. In which 173 km of roads came under ordinary repair. After that, orders were given to repair the roads and bridges within a week. After these orders, work started and potholes were started to be filled by placing paver blocks, but even then the potholes on the entire road of Chetak Bridge have not been filled yet.
