Bhopal: Home Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra has said that the Home Guard and the State Disaster Emergency Response Force (SDERF) have distinguished themselves by carrying out rescue and
relief work during natural calamities.
He said that with the opening of the training center of SDERF in the
state, now maximum jawans can be trained in a better way. Minister
Dr. Mishra was inaugurating the newly constructed training and
administrative building of SDERF in Indore with an amount of Rs 5.5 crore.
Senior officers including DG Home Guard Dr. Pawan Jain, ADG
Dr. Ashok Awasthi, Police Commissioner Indore Makarand Deoskar, IG Indore Rural Rakesh Gupta were present.
Home Minister Dr. Mishra said that under the leadership of Chief
Minister Chouhan, along with modernization of Disaster Response Forces, welfare decisions have been taken in the interest of Home Guard jawans. The first regional training institute of SDERF started in the state will prove to be effective in dealing with the challenges faced in disaster management. To meet these challenges, the SDERF Regional Training Institute has been provided with utmost facilities. Along with this, Home Guard and SDERF are being equipped with modern facilities for disaster management in the state. New equipment and vehicles are being given.
Minister Dr. Mishra also laid the foundation stone of multi guesthouse costing 2 crores. Dr. Mishra also planted an almond sapling in the Regional Training Institute premises.
