Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has given instructions that there should be no loss of life anywhere in the state during the rainy season. For this, all the collectors should assign responsibilities to the administrative staff in the districts under their leadership. Flood control rooms should work 24 hours. The concerned staff should be alert and vigilant and the general public should also be warned so that no accident occurs. There should be no lack of coordination to deal with the challenges of excessive rainfall or flood. If the army is needed anywhere to save the lives of people, the collectors should get the information on time.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has said that the untimely death of three youths preparing for competitive exams due to water filling in the basement in the accident that happened in Old Rajendra Nagar in Delhi yesterday is sad and painful. In the light of the incident, he has given instructions to survey the coaching centers operating in the basements of Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav reviewed the rainfall situation in the state and the possibility of flood in some districts through video conference from the Ministry on Monday. Along with this, he also instructed the collectors-commissioners of the districts to ensure necessary arrangements in case of excessive rainfall in the state.
Dr. Yadav directed that the Public Works Department should collect information about such bridges where accidents have happened in the past. The administration should ensure safety on such culverts and bridges. If there is waterlogging on the bridges, do not let people go.
There should be no hindrance in essential services
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that cleanliness should be taken care of in the supply of drinking water during the rainy days. The general public should get useful items of life without any hindrance. Essential services should be ensured. Due to problems arising during the rainy season, cattle also die. Dead cattle should not be kept anywhere, the work of removing them should be done on time.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that citizens should not be allowed to travel on bridges or culverts where water flow is fast.
Assistance approved for the family of Katni
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has said that recently some citizens have died untimely due to excessive rain in Jabalpur, Mandla and Katni districts, which is painful. It should be ensured that such accidents do not happen in future, necessary arrangements of rescue teams should be made on such rivers and ponds where people go for picnics. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav described the loss of life due to excessive rain in some districts as sad. He also expressed grief over the death of four people due to falling in a well in Katni district. In this case, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has approved a total amount of Rs 16 lakh, Rs 4 lakh each, to the legal heirs of the affected family from the Chief Minister’s discretionary grant fund.
