Floral tributes paid to DMK stalwart and former TN CM Anna

Chennai, Sep 15 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M K Stalin led the State in paying rich tributes to DMK stalwart and former C N Annadurai on the occasion of 116th birth anniversary on Sunday.

Mr Stalin, accompanied by his Cabinet colleagues, MPs, MLAs and party functionaries, garlanded the Anna’s statue, (as Mr Annadurai was affectionately called) on the arterial Anna Salai in the city and paid floral tributes to a decorated portrait of the late DMK Founder.

He then visited the Valluvar Kottam and garlanded the Anna’s statue and also paid tributes to his portrait to mark the occasion.

Later, Mr Stalin paid rich tributes to Anna at the DMK headquarters Anna Arivalayam.

Leaders of various political parties, including the main Opposition AIADMK, DMK’s ally MDMK and other party leaders also paid tributes to mark the occasion.

Elsewhere in the State, floral tributes were paid to Anna by leaders and functionaries of various parties.
