New Delhi, July 22 (UNI) Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday tabled the Economic Survey 2023-24 in Lok Sabha, , projecting FY25 real GDP growth at 6.5-7% and presenting a broad picture on job creation in the services and construction sectors.
On the eve of presenting the first Union Budget of Narendra Modi government 3.0, the Survey, a pre-Budget annual report card prepared by the Finance Ministry’s Economic Division, details the state of the economy and the challenges ahead.
In the Union Budget, which will be Sitharaman’s record seventh in a row, the FM is expected to unveil a blueprint for expanding social schemes, including Ayushman Bharat and a housing subsidy scheme for the poor, highlighted by PM Modi ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
While the Budget is likely to focus on creating more jobs and promoting growth, the Monsoon session may also see the government tabling six bills, including a new version of the Aircraft Act.
