Four decade old bridge collapses in Siwan

Siwan, June 22 (UNI) A 40-year-old bridge on Gandak river canal collapsed suddenly here on Saturday, official sources confirmed. No injury was reported in the incident.

The bridge constructed on the canal in Ramgarh Panchayat of Daraunda block collapsed suddenly this morning. A pillar of the bridge caved in following which the bridge collapsed paralysing the connectivity between Patedhi market and Ramgarh panchayat.

On Tuesday, a portion of a bridge being constructed on Bakra river in Araria district at an expenditure of Rs 12 crore collapsed.
