Four killed, seven injured in firing in Punjab

Gurdaspur (Punjab), July 8 (UNI) Four persons were killed and seven others injured, when two factions opened fire at each other over a dispute in Shri Harigobind Pur in this district.

According to police, around 60 rounds were fired by both sides late on Sunday evening. The deceased have been identified as Shamsher Singh and Baljeet Singh from one side and Nirmal Singh and Balraj Singh from another side.

Two persons who were seriously injured have been referred to Amritsar hospital.

SHO Satpal Singh said that the dispute was over water and a case has been registered against both the parties. He said that further investigation was underway.
