Indore. The Gandhi Sagar forest retreat festival of Mandsaur district emerged as an attractive destination for nature and adventure lovers. The event is becoming a harbinger of prosperity for local communities.
This has been observed during Gandhi Sagar forest retreat and festival organized recently in Mandsaur district of Madhya Pradesh. The event has been organised for the last two years but this year received an overwhelming response from nature and adventure lovers. Not only domestic but foreign tourists were also praised for the event and different activities. District Magistrate and Collector Mandsaur Aditi Garg addressed the inaugural ceremony of the festival. She said it’s not only an event but also a festival of our rich cultural heritage. She hoped through this festival beauty and natural resources of the District will be highlighted. The festival will certainly increase adventurous activities and open the doors of opportunities for local communities. This will also increase awareness among inhabitants for Art, Culture and Environmental protection.
During festival live music, performing arts, air, aquatic and terristrial activities were carried out. These included hot balloons, Skieng motor boating and Dragon boating, jungle safari etc.
After two successful years, some activities and days of live music, performance were increased. Activities like Rock painting and Hinglaj were also organised. Mr Sanjeev Kumar of Evoke expressed the success of the last two years and hopefully expecting the bumper success of this year too. He disclosed planning for destination wedding and corporate meetings in the near future. Except summer the destination is very favorable for tourism and other related activities.
