Bhopal: The Ministry of Rural Development’s Department of Land Resources, Government of India, has launched a pilot program called the National Geospatial Knowledge-Based Land Survey (MAP) for urban settlements in 152 urban local bodies across 26 states and 3 Union Territories. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and Union Minister of Agriculture Shivraj Singh Chouhan will inaugurate the programme on February 18 in Raisen.
The objective of the MAP programme is to create and update land records in urban areas to ensure accurate and reliable documentation of land ownership. This initiative will empower citizens, make life easier, enhance urban planning, and reduce land-related disputes. The IT-based system for property record administration will promote transparency, efficiency, and support sustainable development. During the launch event, drones will be flown, a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) booklet will be released, and videos and flyers related to the MAP program will be issued. A flag-off will take place for the Watershed Journey, a watershed video will be displayed, and the Watershed Anthem will be played.
