The government is constantly trying to increase the income of farmers, so that farming does not become a loss-making deal for them. Moving forward in this series, the government is now going to prepare a roadmap to increase the income of farmers. It is said that the government has now become serious about turning farmers towards traditional farming as well as related sectors like animal husbandry and horticulture. The help of AgTech companies of the state will also be taken to prepare this roadmap. For this, the state government has constituted a high power steering committee under the chairmanship of the Agriculture Production Commissioner. Points for suggestions and consultation have also been fixed for this steering committee. This committee will try to achieve these goals and objectives. The committee will be responsible for getting approval on the vision document prepared by IFC for AgTech, which will be prepared and compiled by IFC. This vision document will be presented for review and approval of the committee. The objective of this vision document is to prepare a clear roadmap for increasing the income and development of the farmers of the state through AgTech companies.
AgTech Summit will be organized
The work will be done to bring all the major stakeholders including AgTech companies, investors, various institutions and researchers on one platform in the state. For this, an AgTech Summit will be organized. Participation of representatives, investors and entrepreneurs from the country and abroad will be ensured in this summit. Also, during this time, a buyer-seller conference and investor summit will be organized. This summit will serve as a platform for exchange of technical knowledge, networking and collaboration. The steering committee will be responsible for giving guidance and approval for the implementation of the AgTech Summit proposed by IFC.
Implementation of proposals is the responsibility of the committee
The committee will be responsible for reviewing and taking action on the new agricultural technology and solution based AgTech startup proposals received in the round table meeting in collaboration with IFC. From time to time, AgTech companies will also present solutions related to new technologies to the state government as per the priorities. The committee will also ensure rapid implementation by reviewing the proposals. This committee will submit its report to the Horticulture and Food Processing Department. The tenure of the committee has been fixed for three years.
