Srinagar, Nov 16 (UNI) An encounter broke out between militants and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir ’s Kulgam district on Thursday, police said.
There were no reports of any casualties so far.
The encounter began after security forces launched an anti-terrorist’s operation in the Samno, Damhal Hanjipora Alshipora area after receiving information about the presence of terrorists there.
“Encounter has started at Samno, D.H Pora area of Kulgam district. Police & Security Forces are on the job. Further details shall follow,” Kashmir Zone Police posted on X.
This is the second gun battle in Kashmir in the last 24 hours. On Wednesday, two infiltrators were killed in a gun battle in Uri sector of Baramulla district.
