Hearing on Saurabh Sharma’s bail in ED court completed

  • Saurabh’s lawyer argues that all ED’s allegations are fabricated; court reserves decision

Bhopal: In the Enforcement Directorate (ED) court, advocate Deepesh Joshi, representing former RTO constable Saurabh Sharma, and advocate Rajneesh Baraiya, representing Saurabh’s associate Sharad Jaiswal, filed a bail petition on Monday. This petition was heard in the court of Special Judge Sachin Kumar Ghosh on Wednesday.

ED lawyer Vikram Singh opposed the bail for Saurabh and Sharad, describing their actions as serious. In contrast, Saurabh’s lawyer, Deepesh Joshi, said ED’s allegations are imaginary. He labeled them as false and sought bail. After hearing arguments from both parties, the court has reserved its decision until Thursday.

Bail granted to family members

On April 9, Saurabh’s mother, Uma Sharma, wife, Divya Sharma, brother-in-law, Vinay Aswani, and Jabalpur resident brother-in-law, Rohit Tiwari, were granted bail from this court. Bail was approved on a bond of Rs 10 lakh by the court of 18th Additional Sessions and Special Judge Sachin Kumar Ghosh. If bail is not granted, Saurabh Sharma and his associates, Sharad and Chetan, will be produced via video conferencing on May 5. Saurabh’s mother, Uma Sharma, was present in court during the hearing of his bail application.

ED presented challan

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Bhopal presented the challan in court on Tuesday, April 8, against former RTO constable Saurabh Sharma and his associates, Sharad Jaiswal and Chetan Singh Gaur. The challan includes allegations regarding 52 kg of gold and Rs 11 crore in cash found in Saurabh’s Innova car, which is claimed to belong to him.
