Istanbul, Feb 4 (UNI) Two pilots have died and a technician has been injured after a helicopter crashed in the Turkish south-central province of Gaziantep, Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said on Sunday.
“The helicopter of the aviation department of the general security directorate, which took off from Hatay to Gaziantep, crashed near the village of Kartal in Gaziantep province. The last contact with the helicopter was established at 10:49 p.m. local time Saturday [19:49 GMT]. Two pilots have died and a technician has been injured,” Yerlikaya said on X.
Turkey’s interior minister has expressed condolences to the families of victims and wished a speedy recovery to an injured police officer.
The cause of the helicopter crash has not been specified.
