Hemant Soren govt wins trust vote in Jharkhand assembly

Ranchi, July 8 (UNI) Hemant Soren government won the trust vote on Monday in the special session of the Jharkhand Assembly.

Around 45 votes were cast in support of the government and zero votes were cast against it. During the trust vote, BJP MLAs walked out, and Independent MLA Saryu Rai remained neutral, casting no votes.

Earlier, Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Amar Kumar Bauri said that there is a tussle among the MLAs of the ruling party. This is the reason why the proposal to win the trust vote for the third time has come today for different reasons.

Bauri said that a new record of corruption was made in five years. He said that their government would not be formed next time. Former Chief Minister Champai Soren said that Jharkhand was made a political laboratory.

He got the chance to form the government through the alliance. Out of five months, three were spent in the Lok Sabha elections. In 24 years, the tribal natives of Jharkhand could not get proper development.

Congress MLA Umashankar Akela said that everyone knows which party ruled the state for the longest time after the formation of Jharkhand. People were deceived by promising two crore jobs in the country. Farmers in the country protested for thirteen months.

AJSU Party President and MLA Sudesh Mahato said there was a need to bring a motion of no confidence. This motion had to be brought due to a lack of confidence in Champai Soren. He congratulated Champai Soren.

MLA Pradeep Yadav said that the BJP tried to destabilise the elected government. CMs of two states in the country had to go to jail. The BJP was also rejected by Ram after the defeat in Ayodhya; now they are leaving the name of Ram and saying Jai Jagannath.

CPI-ML MLA Vinod Kumar Singh said that this motion of no confidence had to be brought because of the BJP. He said that everyone needs to work together to avoid such a situation in the upcoming assembly elections.

When Chief Minister Hemant Soren stood up to answer the confidence motion, the opposition MLAs came to the well and started sloganeering. Soren said that half of you MLAs will not get elected and come next time. After this, Hemant Soren secured a majority in the division of votes.

Later, Assembly Speaker Rabindra Nath Mahato adjourned the proceedings of the House indefinitely.
