New Delhi, (UNI) Actor Hina Khan, currently battling stage 3 breast cancer, has shared a poignant video on Instagram where she is seen cutting her hair short.
The emotional video captures Hina’s resilience as she prepares for the next phase of her treatment.
Hina, who chose to cut her hair before it began to fall out, said, “It is just hair, mumma. Baal hain, aap nahi cut karte ho (It’s hair, don’t you cut it)?”
Despite her mother’s visible distress, Hina remained composed, comforting her with, “Ro nahi (Do not cry) please mumma.”
In the video, Hina sits in front of a mirror as a friend braids her hair, while her mother, sitting nearby, is heard crying.
Hina reassured her mother, “Bas. Aapki tabiyat kharab hojayegi (Stop. You will fall ill).”
After cutting her first pigtail, Hina’s friend snipped off the remaining hair, revealing her new short hairstyle.
Hina’s mother then hugged her, and Hina kissed her on cheek, expressing, “Not bad. I feel liberated.”
Sharing the video, Hina wrote, “You can hear my mother’s wailing voice in Kashmiri (blessing me) in the background as she prepared herself to witness something she never dared to imagine. Not all of us have the same tools at our disposal to manage heartbreaking emotions.”
