Hope new govt in J&K will pass resolution to condemn Aug 5, 2019 decision of Centre

Srinagar, Oct 16 (UNI) Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday hoped the the new government led by Omar Abdullah will pass a resolution to condemn the decision taken by the Central government on August 5, 2019, which was not accepted by the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

It is a “very auspicious day” as people of Jammu and Kashmir have got their government after several years, Mehbooba Mufti said at the swearing-in-ceremony of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah at SKICC Srinagar.

“We hope that the government will pass a resolution condemning the decision taken on August 5, 2019 by the Centre like abrogating Article 370, bifurcating Jammu and Kashmir into two union territories and the people of Jammu and Kashmir do not accept those decisions,” she said.

“The people of Jammu and Kashmir have suffered a lot especially after 2019, and we hope that this new government will heal the wounds we got,” the former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister said.

The PDP President expressed hope that the new government will find ways to resolve issues of unemployment, drug addiction, electricity and others.
