Hospitals spreading death, Fake Doctors & Drugs, fake Hospitals and real truth of a fake govt: Saxena

  • MP’s health crisis

Bhopal: Ravi Saxena, spokesperson for the Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee, condemned the state’s failing healthcare system, following the shocking incident in Damoh where a fake doctor caused the deaths of at least eight patients. Saxena called for immediate legal action against the fraudulent doctor and the hospital involved, describing the incident as a stark reminder of the BJP government’s negligence.

The incident in Damoh involved Narendra Vikramaditya Yadav, who posed as a London-trained cardiologist. He performed over 15 heart surgeries in January-February 2025, leading to the deaths of eight patients. Despite his fake credentials, the hospital entrusted him with patient care without any background verification. Saxena stressed that this negligence exposes the government’s indifference toward public health.

Saxena further highlighted the broader issues plaguing the state’s healthcare system, including the rise of fake doctors, substandard medicines, corruption in the Ayushman Bharat scheme, and drug procurement scandals. He pointed out that Madhya Pradesh has slipped to 17th place in the National Health Index, showcasing the deterioration of the state’s healthcare services. The doctor-patient ratio of 1:8882 further proves the crisis, as per WHO standards, which call for at least one doctor per 1000 patients.

Saxena also criticized the rampant corruption in the Ayushman Bharat scheme, which was intended to provide free treatment to the poor but has instead turned into a platform for scams. He called for a special campaign against fake doctors, a transparent drug procurement process, and greater accountability from the BJP government, which has failed to address these critical issues. Saxena demanded immediate reforms to ensure the health and safety of the people of Madhya Pradesh.
