Huge loss for Indian politics: AAP condoles death of Sitaram Yechury

New Delhi, Sep 12 (UNI) The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday expressed condolences over the death of Communist Party of India (Marxist) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury, stating that his demise is a huge loss for Indian politics.

In a social media post on X, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said, “I am deeply saddened to hear the news of Sitaram Yechury’s demise. He was a great leader, a true socialist and an extraordinary humanitarian. His demise is a great loss to our country’s politics.”

Sisodia extended his tributes and condolences to Yechury’s family and the party.

“A strong voice raised in favour of democracy and constitution, a leading leader Sitaram Yechury who mobilised everyone against communalism, has said goodbye to the world, but he will always remain alive in the voice of the poor, labourers and the oppressed, his departure is an irreparable loss for Indian politics. Red Salute to Comrade Sitaram Yechury with a bowed head,” said AAP MP Sanjay Singh.

Meanwhile, AAP leader Raghav Chadha also took to X stating, “Deeply saddened by the passing of veteran CPI-M leader and a distinguished Parliamentarian, Sitaram Yechury.”

“He was admired across party lines for his intellect, excellent articulation of his party’s positions and a deep-rooted passion for people’s causes. A firebrand speaker and yet gentle colleague, one with a piercing speech yet an amicable bond with everyone, he was a true comrade. His unwavering commitment to the working class and his contributions to Indian politics will be remembered for a long long time,” he said.

“I consider myself fortunate to have had the opportunity to work closely with him over the last decade. This loss is personal. My heartfelt condolences to his family and comrades,” Chadha added.

“The demise of CPI (M) leader Sitaram Yechury is a big loss for Indian politics. My tribute to Yechury ji, who became the voice of the common people and dedicated his entire life to protecting their interests,” said AAP leader Atishi.
