Hurdles in the way of PM Suryaghar Yojana, plants could not be installed

  • On registration, message of already registered is being received

Kavita Singh Rathore, Bhopal
Hurdles are being constantly created in the way of PM Suryaghar Yojana. Why is this happening is still beyond understanding. Why the officials are adopting a lax attitude on the scheme of the Center, this is a big question.

In fact, PM Suryaghar Yojana was started by the Prime Minister on 15 February 2024. A national portal was started for that, under which people could register their complaints related to the scheme. Applications of thousands of people across the city are pending on this.

There is no solution to this. The surprising thing is that the solar plant is yet to be installed on the roofs of their houses. The national portal of PM Suryaghar is down for the last three months and no one is taking cognizance of it. The result is that, even 5% of the plants set by the government have not been installed till now. If we talk about Bhopal only, here the government plans to produce 50% of the electricity i.e. about 900 MW from solar only.

What is the plan?: Under the PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme, eligible people will get a subsidy of 40% to 60% of the total cost on installing solar panels. Also, money can be earned by selling the extra electricity produced from it. Under this scheme, the government will give about 300 units of free electricity to every family. The solar panels installed under the scheme will not only reduce the electricity bill, but will also reduce carbon emissions in the environment by promoting the use of clean energy.

Ajay, who lives in Ayodhya Nagar, says that at the time of registration, he got a message that this number is already registered and the problem has not been resolved yet. Abhishek, who lives in Kolar, said that he has registered on the portal, he also received an OTP, but when he tries to enter the OTP for the next process, it shows that it is wrong.

Problems in the portal

–       Even on registering for the first time, consumers get a message that they are already registered
–       On entering the IVRS number of the electricity bill, data of other consumers is visible.
–       Wrong OTP while logging in
–       There is no option to edit the name of the power company
–       The delete button on the portal does not work for the power company
–       Solar vendor report is not visible even after uploading it on the portal
–       Progress related data is not visible in the portal or wrong data is shown
–       Names of registered vendors are not visible on the portal
–       Under the scheme, a subsidy of Rs 78 thousand is available, but its benefits are not being received

Current situation in Bhopal

–       Target to install 25 thousand solar plants by April 2024
–       Not even 05% have been installed till now
–       Technical glitch in the central portal since 03 months
–       The consumption of electricity in the city is 2200 MW
–       Target to generate 846 MW electricity from solar
–       There is a subsidy of Rs 78 thousand on a three kilowatt panel
–       There are less than 10 thousand plants in the city right now
–       Subsidy started again from 05 June 2024

Technical glitch on the national portal for three months There is a problem. It is operated from Delhi. We have already lodged a complaint in this regard.
