New Delhi, Sep 21 (UNI) Countering a challenge from the opposition members for a debate on the Sino-Indian border problems, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday asserted in the Lok Sabha that he had the courage to discuss the China issue.
“I have full courage to discuss the China issue,” Singh replied to Congress Leader of the House Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, who was among those interrupting him.
The Defence Minister was presenting his views on the success of the Chandrayaan-3 mission and other achievements of the nation in space when some opposition MPs including Chowdhury dared Rajnath to hold a debate on the China issue in the House if he had the courage.
“Poori Himmat hai, China pe bhi, mein seena chauda karke charcha karne ke liyea taiyaar hun. (I have full courage. I am prepared for a discussion on China also with a broad chest).”
On the success of the space mission, Singh said, “The success of Chandrayaan-3 is a great achievement for the country as several developed countries have been making efforts to reach the moon, But we have become the first nation to reach the southern pole of the moon.”
Speaking on the importance of both culture and science in life, he said “Our government is going forward with a balanced approach to culture and science”.
Addressing the House a day after it passed the 128th Constitution (Amendment) Bill with an overwhelming majority, Rajnath praised women scientists for their role in the success of India’s space mission. “Women have played an important role in the success of Chandrayaan-3,” said the Defence Minister.
