I.N.D.I.A. wants to erase Sanatana Dharma: Modi

Bina (MP), Sep 14 (UNI) Raining fire on the I.N.D.I.A bloc formed by 28 parties opposed to the BJP, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday described it as a “haughty combine” whose hidden agenda includes annihilation of the Sanatana tradition.

Addressing a public meeting in this town of election-bound Madhya Pradesh, the visiting leader said, “On the one hand, Bharat is emerging on the world platform as a Vishwamitra, while on the other hand some political parties are busy dividing the country and our society”.

Modi targeted the opposition combine on the issue of leadership. “I.N.D.I.A. has no proper commander and is grossly confused as far ss leadership. At their recent Mumbai meeting, they drafted a so-called policy and strategy as to the manner in which the compact will ‘function’.”

Alleging that I.N.D.I.A.’s blueprint is to stage an assault on the citizens’ faith, the Prime Minister added that the bloc is hell-bent on destroying millennia-old culture.

“These people have begun making utterances openly and are mounting attacks, which are only going to intensify. Each Sanatani in every nook and cranny of the country and those who love Bharat must be wary as I.N.D.I.A. desires to push the nation back into millennium-old slavery”.

“We have to scotch their evil designs through the two-pronged power of organisation and unity. Our culture inspired Ahilyabai Holkar and fuelled Rani Lakshmibai’s immortal words ‘Main apni Jhansi nhin doongi’ (I shall not relinquish my Jhansi).”

Modi said Sanatana Dharma was respected by Father of the Nation Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi throughout his existence and galvanised him to launch a movement against the scourge of untouchability.

“In fact, Bapu’s last words were ‘Hey Ram’,” he said.

Modi asserted that the Sanatana tradition motivated Swami Vivekananda to awaken Indians, while Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak made Lord Ganesh’s worship a public event.

“Bravehearts embraced the gallows saying that their next birth should also be in Bharat. Sanatana culture formed the bedrock for the philosophy of Sant Ravidas, Maa Shabri and Maharishi Valmiki,” Modi added.

The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for projects worth more than Rs 50,700 crore including a Petrochemical Complex at the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd’s refinery here.
